Our Long Island location is currently sourcing the beeswax from a local beekeeper off Long Island on Fisher's Island, NY.
Our Maine location is currently sourcing the beeswax from a local beekeeper (Richard's Backyard Bees) in Parsonsfield.
Both locations offer unrefined and raw beeswax. It's important to use raw since refining kills the medicinal benefits. Not only is it important for us to support our local beekeepers, but research shows that every 1 out of 3 bites of food we eat comes from the pollination of bees.
When applied it creates a barrier on your skin to protect it from harsh environments as it also holds in moisture. Beeswax does not clog your pores, whereas ingredients made from petroleum do. It is also anti-allergenic, which is best for those with the most sensitive skin.
Pure Essential Oils: There is definitely a science to mixing essential oils. However, the combinations are endless! Send me any personalized requests. Essential oils are extracted through careful steam distillation, resin tapping, and cold pressing of the seeds, roots, bark, stems, leaves, fruit, flowers, and/or branches from plants or trees. Factors that make them therapeutic-grade are environmental (grown organically), and how they are harvested. Oils that are not therapeutic-grade have been heavily adulterated and diluted most of the time with synthetic ingredients. Therapeutic-grade oils are extremely concentrated. Although the cost of the oil is more, we need far less and can expect better results. It takes 27 square feet of lavender plants to make just one 15-ml bottle of therapeutic-grade lavender essential oil.
